I currently live in the hills of Stroud after a 6 year stint in Bristol, 12 years in Oxford, a year circumnavigating the globe and 5 years in Northampton. Oh and the first 18 were in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District, hence the accent. Outside of the creative stuff I enjoy being a Dad, wildlife, gardening and relentlessly consuming podcasts on politics and comedy.
In my varied career I've worked for Oxfam HQ, Bristol Mental Health, St Mungos, Oxford University and photographer Ken Kirkwood, to name a few. My degree training is in graphic design (BA Hons) and I'm now freelance, taking on creative projects from redesigning outdoor spaces to mural and kids book illustrations to wedding anniversary invites.
I play guitar and I've been in countless bands, most notably Listing Ships who wrote 'Then Venice Sank' which was sampled on 'Bored To Be Wild' by Sleaford Mods. I'm currently in a band called Ghost At The Feast with Paul Talbot and Ed McGregor from Bristol, and we play low-key cinematic instrumental music. My ultimate goal is to have a piece of my music immortalised in film. Anyway, check out the music section for some of the band related projects I've been involved in.
Drop me a line if you like my stuff and have a visual or musical creative project you'd like me to work on. Or a garden you need need help with!
cheers,
Mike
